Deputy Minister Lee Seong-ho
Biography
Lee Seong-ho was appointed Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in May 2020. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Representative for ROK-US Defense Burden-sharing.
Since joining the MOFA of the ROK in 1989, Mr. Lee held a number of foreign diplomatic positions in the U.S., Senegal, Belgium and the European Union, and led several divisions on trade cooperation and trade dispute settlement. He most recently served as the Director-General for International Economic Affairs from August 2014 to September 2015; as Director-General for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Affairs from October 2015 to February 2016; and as Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative in the Korean Permanent Delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France from March 2016 to August 2019.
