Biography

Sachiko Nakajima is a jazz pianist, mathematician, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) Educator, and media artist. She is also the first female from Japan to win the gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad. Sachiko currently serves as the CEO of steAm, Inc. and Director of the STEAM Sports Laboratory, Inc. She has been appointed as the STEM Girls Ambassador by the Japanese Cabinet Office, and as one of the Thematic Project Producers for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. She is also actively involved in the promotion of STEAM creative learning in Japan as a member of the “Learning Innovation” committee led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industries. Sachiko holds an MPS from Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
